Forgiveness-Be a butterfly!

I recently read a blog post that was related to another blog post about forgiveness which inspired me to write this blog post. Woo-what a sentence right?

The question is should you forgive and why should you? Is it really for you or for the other person who did the damage to you in the first place and what are you forgiving? Is it trauma that is truly unforgivable? ie; abuse-sexual, physical and or verbal? Or did you just really have a bad childhood and you still are holding on to that in the back of your young unforgiving mind?

These are all interesting thoughts of to forgive or not to forgive. I am not a psychologist or have any type of degree to even form an opinion that would qualify but what I have read on this topic and have learned from many years with therapist ( yes, I have gone to therapy) is this you can forgive others but not for their benefit but for your own and that is for your own sake as to move on. Now here is the question really. Do you really want to move on? Do you really want to forgive or is this something that you have held on to for so long that it is like a part of you like a second skin and without you wouldn’t feel right? I have met these types of people. They fall into the category of a victim. Not a survivor.  When you have this mentality, you can not let go. You will eventually repeat the same patterns, the same old, same old unless you rid yourself of the victim mentality and love yourself enough to become a survivor and not have this be part of your story anymore.

Now I am not saying that this person or people were not wrong but stop reliving the bad and go for the good. If you keep rehashing this they have won and you my dear friends have lost. You will fall into the trap and that is not where any one should be. Love yourself enough to pull yourself out and fly above all of it.

In summary learn to fly just like a butterfly. Hatch from the cocoon you have spun yourself into and spread those beautiful wings and let the world see your beauty. You deserve so much more. Tell another story… Hell rewrite it!

Calling all locavore’s

I am working on the next issue and I am needing people who live a green life.

Do you live a green life?

What makes your house GREEN?

Do you only buy local ingredients?

In case you didn’t know a “Localvore” is as follows (wikipedia): The food may be grown in home gardens or grown by local commercial groups interested in keeping the environment as clean as possible and selling food close to where it is grown. One often cited, but not universal, definition of “local” food is food grown within 100 miles of its point of purchase or consumption.

What are your favorite local ingredients, markets, wares?

What made you decide to become a locavore?

What is your favorite recipe for using local ingredients?

I would love to hear from all of you and of course the answers with names unless you request that you don’t want your name printed will be in the next issue.

If you would like to leave a comment anonymously please do so and tell me you would like to be anonymous.

I can’t wait to hear from you. Have a great Friday!

Well it has been three months now since La belle vie officially started and my we have grown. I am so excited for this new year and all the great people and businesses that La belle vie will be showcasing over the year.

I never realized how big this whole thing would be. It started off as a little dream in my head sitting on my back porch sipping on a glass of wine on a mid summer’s eve. Now here I sit with a growth of over 400% over the last three months. I did the math and I can’t believe my eyes. I believe that there are people who really want a magazine that focuses on beauty and the positive things in the world and that is what I have set out to do.

If you are interested in being part of this beautiful, positive and wonderful magazine please contact me. You can either email me or find me at

What I am working on now-Small Towns

Small Towns, USAgreenville

There are wonderful small towns across this lovely nation. Of course La belle vie loves small towns. This is why in every issue we focus on one small town and bring you, the reader knowledgeable information about that town including dining, lodging and activities.

I hope to shed light on these small towns and what makes them great to visit. This month’s small town I actually lived in for five years and there are so many great small businesses that I will be focusing on as well as some wonderful activities to do in and around the city.

It was interesting to say the least to live in this small town coming from Portland. It truly was like living in another world. Culturally speaking history abounds in this small town. Starting as a textile mill city and now in more modern times they produce high end vehicles. You will be able to read more about this small town starting December 30th, 2012.

You can read about November’s small town on La belle vie’s Scribd page at

What I am working on Now-INTERESTING!

Well last night as I was “chatting” with the hubby as he is in Canada and the boss man doesn’t really allow him to use his phone as it is “roaming” so we revert back to teenagers and use instant messaging and there we are chatting away and I realized something.

This magazine has made me a different person, a better, happier person.

I have done many things in my life.

I have been a waitress, a door to door saleslady, a telemarketer, a secretary, a cook, and in retail, but now I have finally found my path. Finally at 40 years old. Yes, I am willing to admit my age, being 40 has been a challenge. This year has been one of the most difficult years of my life.

I have had some serious medical issues which include two biopsies which thank God turned out negative and finally getting my cluster headaches under control at least somewhat.

I am really thankful for all the wonderful people I have met so far on this amazing journey and all the support I have received. I still can’t believe it. Honestly I truly can’t believe it!

I just want to say that I am so appreciative of all of it. I hope to continue to show all of you what I can do and to continue to improve and grow.  I am looking forward to featuring some really great recipes, places, and so much more that will inspire and improve the lives of everyone. Anyways I wish all of you a beautiful day.

What I am working on now-Advertisers!

It’s been fun…Advertisers are really difficult to find. They are almost as allusive as the bigfoot/Sasquatch in the woods.

Right now I am however offering a really great deal for the next issue for January.

For a full page ad plus for an entire month on La belle vie’s website you can get an ad for $15.00 buckaroos.  Yep that’s right! Heck that is less than a dinner at most places.

What I am looking for is some really great small businesses.

Do you have a small business?

Would you like to have an audience of an average of 100+readers a day?

Contact me at

I would love to hear from all of you. lbvphoto01

What I am working on NOW-Classified Ad Space

Click here to contact La belle vie!

So La belle vie is thinking about having a classified section in the issue every month.

I think this would be a wonderful thing for small businesses. Nothing works better than an ad and of course it would be not only in the issue but also on the website too.

I am thinking about charging $15.00 a month for classified ad for the entire month. What are your thoughts? Would you be interested in advertising with La belle vie?

Here are our current stats right now as 11/25/2012.

La belle vie is averaging 100+ reads a day on the Scribd page where the magazine is sold.

Our Facebook page has 174 likes but almost 200 people are “Talking about La belle vie”.

So if you would like to have at least 100+ people a day view your business, product etc.. Contact La belle vie at

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

These sound delicious and fairly easy to make. Thought all of you would enjoy this recipe.

Can't Stay Out of the Kitchen

Teresa’s Bake Shop – Christmas Cookie edition – 2012

These whoopie pies rock! Each cookie tastes so amazing because it has a rich pumpkin flavor filled with a fantastic creamy icing. This pumpkin cookie has wonderful spices like cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and pumpkin pie spice that give it an incredibly rich essence. Put two of these delicious cookies together with a thick, powdered sugar icing and WHOOPIE! We love these Pumpkin Whoopie Pies and that’s why they are included in our Christmas Cookie Extravaganza this year. After you try one, I’m sure you’ll agree that they are fantastic.

I got this delightful recipe from my niece, Heather, who also loves cooking and trying out new recipes. She made this delicious  pumpkin whoopie pie recipe along with a chocolate whoopie pie recipe she found online and gave me a copy of both. She thought I would enjoy them too. She was…

What I am working on NOW-January Issue.

January is right around the corner…I know we haven’t even gone through Thanksgiving yet, but as a magazine publisher almost finished with December’s issue it is time to start thinking about January and of course February.

Don’t you love the beginning of a new year? You are full of optimism and ideas for the next year of your life.

I love the new year as it means that the old one is over and it is time to make some changes and to bring newness into my life.

With this new found joy means letting go…

How many of you find it difficult to forgive?

Do you hold onto a grudge?

Did you know that it is unhealthy?

It is only hurting YOU!

What is holding you back from forgiveness?

This is something I will be focusing on in the January issue.

So if you have any stories about forgiveness please feel free to contact me at also with the new year means to bring happiness into your life.

What I am working on NOW- Fun filled activities for the entire family.

Have some fun this HOLIDAY!

The kids are out of school and now what?

We all wonder this. This is why I am working on some fun filled activities for the little ones. You know if you keep them busy the easier your life will be.

Kids need fun in their lives and of course we enjoy it as well. What a better way to spend the winter break than with family and enjoying some fun activities.

Now that my daughter is eighteen and barely home and if she is she is either online or spending time with her friends I now cherish those memories that we had spending time with one another during all the seasons, but of course the HOLIDAYS is a special time, a time where MAGIC happens.

What magic are you going to make this year?

What I am working on now-CHRISTMAS BRUNCH.

So brunch is delicious anytime of year, but I vote this year to have Christmas Brunch instead of the large meal for dinner.

I think that it would be great to invite your guests to your home having them wear their pajamas. Make your guests feel comfortable and have an easy morning/afternoon.

Are you like me and absolutely love breakfast? Well then brunch for Christmas is the perfect solution to an easy and carefree day on Christmas. Why not relax on this day?

Brunch gives you time to relax and share quality time with your family.

Look out for the Christmas Brunch in the next issue in December’s issue

What I am working on now-BLOGGERS!

Well it’s Sunday and of course I would love a day of just full rest but work continues.

Blogs are so unique and amazing and I would love to promote some great blogs.

It has been rather interesting when asking if anyone knows of great blogs or if they have a blog they would like to include in the next issue I haven’t received very many responses. I know how it is when you have a great blog and you look at your stats and wonder if anyone reads your posts. This is why I started the idea of putting blogs out there, another way to increase traffic and to promote all those hardworking bloggers.

Every month La belle vie will have a section in the magazine for HOT BLOGS! If you would like to be part of a brand new magazine with a large following on Scribd please email me at I would love to know about all the wonderful blogs out there.

Of course I am always looking for anything beautiful. If you have a product/business that you would like to see featured in an upcoming issue please contact me.

P.S. Also if you have an inspiring story that you would like to share or any ideas please feel free to email me at the above email address. I look forward to hearing from all of you. Have a fabulous and BEAUTIFUL Sunday!

What I am working on-Fashion & College application.

It’s Friday and it seems this week or heck this year has gone by so fast. Where has the time gone? Today I am taking my daughter to register her for college classes. I wonder where the time has gone? It seems like just yesterday she was getting on the bus for the first time with her little Minnie Mouse dress and telling me “I can do it momma”. She was always Ms. Independent. It’  just crazy to think about. She has always been my inspiration. We have been through so much together and been a team and now that she is moving out I am just not sure what I should do with myself. I really started La belle vie as a way to support myself and my family and of course to keep myself busy now that I have the time. It has turned into something beautiful and wonderful. I am so excited for the future of the magazine. I think that it will be something great.

So as I sit here writing about fashion I have to think about all the phases that a child goes through. She went through her Tomboy phase, her Gothic phase, her emo phase, and now she is at a point of “whatever she can find to put on” phase. She lives in hoodies and jeans definitely her mother’s daughter. Fashion expresses who we are from the outside. The clothes tell the world who we are and what we stand for.

What does fashion mean to you?

Is there one outfit/ensemble that makes you feel fantastic?

I think fashion can make you feel wonderful so as long as we don’t get caught up in the size or reflecting upon what other’s think of us. Fashion should make you feel good about yourself and of course boost your self confidence, but definitely you can’t depend on fashion to give you this confidence it must reside in you to begin with.

Love the clothes that you are in but most importantly LOVE YOURSELF.
